Change of Use to Residential
Our clients for this development are restaurant owners.
Over the years it had become more and more difficult for them to sustain a restaurant in the area.
So our brief for this project was to get planning approval for change of use to residential, and to convert the restaurant to flats.
Kensington Conservation Area
The scheme is just off Kensington High Street and in a Conservation Area so the design had to be well thought through.
From our experience we knew that the design had to be special to have any chance of being approved by Kensington.
Kensington Planning Approval
Our clients were delighted that Planning Approval was granted by Kensington for our scheme on the first go. Our design and plans were commended by the Council in their report.
Conversion to Two Flats
Our design is for two bespoke new flats. The first is inserted in to the existing building at the front of the site. The second is planned at a sunken level to the rear. This flat has wild flower roofs, top lit bedrooms and an internal courtyard. On the outside we have used timber boards that give a modern look to the space from surrounding buildings.
